Emanuela Ammendola is a Researcher at Universitas Mercatorum. She got her master’s degree in LSP at the University of Naples l’Orientale and later focused on specialized terminologies in her PhD research at the University of Naples Parthenope. Fields of interest in her research are LSP and terminology, multimodality, audiovisual translation (AVT), social media and advertising. Her PhD dissertation on the popularisation of specialised terminologies in entertainment products was the starting point for publishing a book titled “Popularising Specialised Terminologies. Legal Terminology in TV Series: a Corpus-driven Analysis on Suits.” She has been Research fellow at the University of Ferrara. She has taught Business English, Legal English and English in Communication Science. She has also cooperated with the Terminology Coordination Unit of the European Parliament in the context of projects like YourTerm Mare, YourTerm Fem and YourTerm Food.
