My research experience in computational biology started as a student, with contributions to biological data mining and in-silico mutagenesis studies developed at the Biology Dept. of Federico II. During my thesis and Ph.D., carried out between the Biology and Agricultural Sciences departments of Federico II, I improved my knowledge of biological modeling by programming in-silico complex systems at different spatial scales. Subsequently,  I worked on the analysis of *omics data to characterize planktonic communities from a molecular standpoint. After returning to the Federico II Biology Dept., I resumed my work on in-silico mutagenesis. My current research line @uniroma5 aims to contribute to understanding rare diseases by studying the effect of missense mutations on the structure and function of proteins involved in pathogenesis, starting from bioinformatics data. I am particularly interested in NG methods for protein structure determination, docking, and Protein-to-protein interaction.
